Michael Duchesne

Hailing from Sydney, at the youthful age of 22, Michael has already honed his craft as a singer and guitarist to a fine edge, performing at some of Sydney’s top live venues alongside some of Australia’s best musicians and artists.

Duchesne (pronounced ‘Du-Shane’) has performed as a solo act along  Australia's east coast and also works closely with Sydney Soul / R&B band, Ebony & Ivory.

After opening for American artist Eric Benét on his Australian tour in October 2011, Duchesne was approached by the Executive Music Director for 'The Voice Australia', Louise Perryman, and featured on the show in 2012.

He made the final 24 under the mentorship of ‘Coach Seal’. His final performance - The Beatles’ classic ‘Got To Get You Into My Life’ - was broadcast Live to over two million people.

Michael sums up his experience on The Voice this way: "The Voice was a great experience, providing a real insight into the industry in which I aim to build my career. Filling the hours of waiting to perform by jamming with crazy, talented artists behind the scenes and then performing while backed by some of Australia's very best musicians was awesome.

"And working with Seal? He's a big man with an intense passion for music. He wanted to squeeze the best out of me. I'm incredibly grateful to have worked with him and for the opportunity to get my face and voice into the living rooms of millions of Australians."

Besides live performances with renowned Soul and R&B bands like Brown Sugar and Ebony & Ivory, Michael gets his biggest kick out of songwriting and production. He’s already written over 60 original songs with a feel like… well, think Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway. Think John Mayer, John Legend & India Arie. Think Earth Wind & Fire and Brian McKnight.

Think Michael Duchesne!
